Your privacy, in plain terms.
HeyGroop isn't available yet. Right now this site does one thing: it lets you join a short email list so we can tell you when it launches — and send the occasional update after. Here's exactly what that means for your data, and how to leave the list whenever you like.
What we collect
Only the email address you type into the "Notify me at launch" box — nothing else. We don't ask for your name, we don't require an account, and we don't track you across the web to build a profile.
Why we collect it — and what you're opting into
By joining, you're opting into an occasional email list, not a one-time message. We'll email you when HeyGroop launches, and after that only now and then — usually just when there's a new release. It's low-volume by design: we'd rather send one email a year that matters than fill your inbox. You can leave the list at any time (see below).
Where it's stored
Your email is stored securely in Google Firebase, a service run by Google. It's transmitted over an encrypted connection and kept in a database that isn't publicly readable.
What we will never do
We will never sell your email address, rent it, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. HeyGroop's whole reason for existing is to be a private, ad-free product — that principle starts here, before the app even ships.
How to unsubscribe — any time
You can leave the list whenever you want, no questions asked. Two ways: email support@steamboatsoftware.com and ask to be removed, or use the unsubscribe link included in every email we send. Either way we delete your address from the list promptly. We never make you jump through hoops to leave.
Who runs this
HeyGroop is built by Steamboat Software LLC. Questions about your data can go to support@steamboatsoftware.com.
This notice covers the pre-launch website only. When the HeyGroop app launches, it will have its own full privacy policy covering how the app itself handles your information.
